Shaping the future of bioelectricity research across disciplines
The Bioelectricity Cluster results from the EU project "COSMOS" (n. 101064443, 2022-2024) aimed at spearheading research into bioelectricity beyond traditionally excitable cells. Since 2025, it brings together researchers, clinicians, engineers, and innovators from around the world to share ideas, discoveries, and emerging technologies in bioelectricity, sparking high-impact exchange and collaboration across biomedicine and technology.
We organize alternated bi-yearly full conferences and smaller focus meetings.
The inaugural event was hosted by the University of Oxford and sponsored by Coherence Neuro, Nanion Technologies GmbH, the Institute of Physics (IoP), Device by Cell Press, Mary Ann Liebert Inc., the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), the University of Oxford, the University of Southampton, and Khalifa University.
